Chapter 159: Lilith's Arrival
Albert waited inside the best room of the best inn in the town. The room was fully furnished with everything that he didn't need to go out to do anything. There was even a bathroom inside.
He waited inside with Shella, but there weren't many things he could talk about with Shella other than a bit of her research.
While waiting for Lilith's arrival, he learned more about his system from Shella's perspective. Some were easily proved by his action or asking Bonkey, some needed to wait as he had yet to acquire the feature.
Still, talking to her was indeed beneficial as he learned many things.
In the end, Albert got some sleep to prepare himself for what was to come. He was curious about the battle between Lilith and the salamander as this allowed him to grasp Lilith's power.
As long as he had some prior knowledge, he should be able to prepare for their battle and somehow bonk her.
…
Whether it was intentional or unintentional, Lilith reached the inn right during the dark and somehow entered his room.
Without hesitation, she tried the same approach as the previous meeting.
"Mhm?" Albert let out a small moan as he gradually opened his eyes as soon as a weight pressed his lower abdomen.
Lilith was sitting right on top of him while licking her lips as though she was satisfied with how things were going.
"Lilith? Why do you always visit me during the night and in this kind of position?" asked Albert while rubbing his eyes to shake his sleepiness.
"A trait from the succubus. Though, everyone would be frozen like a statue once I do this, so there's nothing that can be done. You're the only person who doesn't react the same way. It makes me a bit excited." Lilith let out a soft chuckle.
"Then, can you get off me? I thought it was sleep paralysis." Albert sighed.
"I'm still wondering… Can you get it up?" Lilith didn't immediately step aside. Instead, she started moving back and forth.
It was clear what she was talking about, but Albert simply said, "Move or…"
Lilith saw a wooden bat appearing out of thin air and hurriedly flew to the side. "Wait, wait, wait. I was just curious."
"I am not interested in satisfying your curiosity." Albert rose from the bed and sat on the edge of the bed while staring at Lilith.
"I don't want to brag, but I'm the most beautiful woman and my charm is the greatest out of all succubus. Yet, I don't seem to be able to excite you… Can you blame me for becoming curious?" Lilith pouted.
If Lilith knew that Albert died after having sex and left that world without anyone accompanying him, she would probably never ask it. However, Albert also had no intention of talking about it with her, so he simply brushed her reply aside.
"Anyway, what do you want?"
"…" Lilith sighed and waved her hand. Suddenly, a chair flew toward her. She grabbed it, put it down, and sat on it. "Well, I come here for the salamander."
"Do you want to talk it out?"
"Well, it's true that I want to know a bit more about the era before this. However, from how you describe it, I can picture the salamander's temperament. So, I'm going to beat him up first and talk after that." Lilith explained her plan.
"In that case, I want to observe the battle if possible."
"Hmm… That's hard." Lilith thought for a moment. "My power might affect its surroundings, so I don't want to involve you if possible."
"Is that so? I guess I will only show you the spot." Albert nodded. He was a bit disappointed, but he had expected this earlier. So, he didn't want to force it and acted rashly just to watch their battle. After all, a single attack was enough to kill him.
"Though, you did come here with Shella, right? You should ask her to carry you in the air and watch it from afar. At the very least… half a mile?" Lilith offered a solution if Albert still wanted to watch.
"Oh?" It obviously piqued Albert's interest. "That's great."
"Just be careful if there's a stray power, alright?"
"Don't worry. I don't have any plans for dying."
"Good. That's all, to be honest. When will we go to the spot? There should be a volcano nearby too, right?"
"Yes." Albert confirmed and added, "It's going to explode, I guess? I haven't checked the current situation since I immediately went to this town to inform you about the salamander's existence. I don't know if the salamander was really the cause of the eruption."
"That's a possibility. I will check it when we arrive there. When do you plan to go there?"
"Hmm. In the afternoon? We'll reach there at night."
"There is around one to two hours before dawn, so I guess it's fine." Lilith nodded. "I guess we need to get some sleep first before fighting against the salamander."
"Yeah." Albert agreed and yawned.
Lilith nonchalantly walked to his bed and laid down as though she was planning to use the bed to sleep.
Albert glanced at her with his eyebrows twitching. "What are you doing?"
"Sleeping? The bed is big, so you don't mind if I use it, right?"
"You are the queen of the Lust Kingdom while I'm nobody. You shouldn't sleep here so as to protect your reputation."
"Even my loyal retainers are sleeping like this. That kind of reputation is not needed in my kingdom, you know." Lilith stuck her tongue out.
"I see. Since you're the queen, your words are equal to a rule. In that case, I'll just use another bed." Albert stood up, preparing to walk toward the other bed.
"Why are you always adamant in keeping the distance between us?" Lilith sighed. "Succubus is normal to sleep with others, you know."
"So, you're sexually frustrated because no man can't resist your charm?" Albert asked again with a distorted face, not understanding what was inside Lilith's head.
"So, are you a kind of eunuch?" Lilith tilted her head.
"No. My power is the exact opposite of you. In my previous world, horny and bonk is a never-ending fight. If I sleep here with you, doesn't that mean I approve of your existence?"
"Eh? There's such a thing? But this is not your world. There's no need to cling to your previous world's beliefs." Lilith harrumphed. "Maybe both can have a peaceful relationship."
"…" Albert fell silent and refused to reply. He simply walked toward the other bed, leaving her there.
'Now I'm a bit curious what kind of world he lived in.' Lilith furrowed her eyebrows and thought. 'There must be a huge cultural difference. Even among the kingdoms, we have this kind of stuff, let alone between worlds.
'Maybe he has something we don't have… If it's possible, I want them to give a better living to my subjects. But I guess this is not possible for now. I'll wait until I recruit him or our relationship progresses. Hopefully, there's something like that.' Lilith laid down, staring at the ceiling while falling into deep thought.
'Two worlds, two beliefs. This world has a meaning to him.' Lilith let out a long sigh. 'As much as I want to respect his privacy, I need to get some information about his former world. Those heroes in the past gave some information to improve the living condition of the human kingdoms. I also want such a thing.'
Lilith had a conflict in her heart. On the one hand, Albert's knowledge might be useful to the development of her country. On the other hand, she didn't want to be that manipulative to someone who could treat her like a normal person.
In the end, she was drowned by her thoughts and dazed off.
…
A few hours later.
Lilith gradually opened her eyes while covering them from the light. Because this wasn't her palace, she suddenly rose from her bed and looked around, finding only Albert, who was busy with the meal.
She soon realized she had overslept. Still, she felt no danger whatsoever during the sleep, so she believed nothing happened last night.
"What are you eating?" Lilith asked while walking toward him.
"Nothing much." Albert shook his head and showed it to her. "Do you want some? I have ordered a bit more for you."
"I don't eat that much, especially outside. There's a chance of me being poisoned after all." Lilith shook her head. "Though, I don't mind eating something you've bitten."
"So, I'm a poison tester?"
"I don't mean that…"
Albert chuckled. "I know, I know. Anyway, there's no poison in here, so I guess you can eat everything."
"How do you know?"
"I have my own way." Albert shrugged while adding inwardly, 'Thanks, Bonkey.'
[Don't worry. This is just a basic defense mechanism. Poison or curse won't escape from me.]
'Yeah, yeah.' Albert handed a few plates to him. "Why don't you eat?"
"Sorry. It's not that I want to reject you. I will be satisfied with your leftovers." Lilith waved her hand with a wry smile.
"It's hard to live as a royalty, eh." Albert sighed and ripped the bread apart. He ate the first half and handed the other half to her, showing that he was fine consuming this bread.
Lilith ate the bread after five minutes. Although she didn't want to be rude to Albert, this was necessary.
Albert continued to eat while ignoring her manners. In fact, he quite pitied her since she needed to constantly watch out for any attempts of assassinations.
Meanwhile, the warmth from Albert's action spread in her heart as she couldn't contain her smile while eating the food.. This was the first time she ate with someone in a while.
