Chapter 52 - Three New Spells
In one of the spell-rooms of the Infernal Castle.
Lucas was completely oblivious that there was one of his associates from the past life to be transmigrated into this world just like him.
What's more, he had a system of his own to help him become powerful.
'Kacha'
Since he still had two more spell-rooms to check, Lucas hurriedly crushed the spell scroll to learn it.
'Ding,
Congratulations to the host for learning the 'Protection spell'. Please use it to gain experience.
'Protection?'
Lucas felt the name of that spell was good; however, he didn't have the time to check the information on it. So, without wasting any time, he informed the dungeon spirit.
"Send me to another spell room. I need an attacking spell, what will I do with this protection spell?"
In order to not raise any suspicions of the dungeon spirit, Lucas said that the 'Protection spell' was useless.
<Spell rooms left:- 3>
The dungeon spirit didn't bother to waste Lucas' time as it informed the remaining spell rooms to Lucas before sending him to one of those three remaining spell rooms.
'Only three? Looks like I can't enter my fourth spell-room. I hope I can gain a powerful spell in the third room.'
Lucas had already expected that he would be not checking in all the spell-rooms. So, he was not worried about it; however, he was hoping for a powerful spell in the next spell room.
'Swoosh'
Soon, Lucas appeared in the third spell room and rushed towards the center of the room before crushing the spell scroll.
In the next moment, a sharp pain that was more painful than before appeared in his head.
'Since it is painful compared to the time when the knowledge of other spells entered into my head, it must be a powerful basic spell.'
Lucas became hopeful with his new spell.
Even though 'Thunder bullet' is a basic spell, it can kill a mid-level squire without much difficulty and severely injure the high-level squire as long as he takes the hit.
So, he was hoping for another spell similar to the 'Thunder bullet'.
'Ding,
Congratulations to the host for learning a new basic spell 'Basic heal'.
'Heal?'
Lucas was stupefied when he saw it was not a powerful spell; instead, it was a healing spell.
'Healing spell is not a bad spell.'
Nevertheless, when he thought that all the spells were placed by the Mages guilds, Lucas knew it was very hard to find a powerful or rare spell.
"Are there any spell-rooms left?"
Lucas asked the dungeon spirit, who replied, <None>
"Okay"
After getting his answer, Lucas sat on the ground and closed his eyes trying to fool the dungeon spirit that he was learning the spell from the scroll he just crushed.
…..
In the main hall of the Infernal Castle.
Currently, there were many corpses lying on the floor of the main hall as they started disappearing much faster than before leaving behind their valuables which were picked up by the surviving participants.
<All the spell rooms are checked in. The 78 surviving participants have killed 10 participants each; however, they can't enter the spells rooms>
Just after all spell-rooms were checked in, the dungeon spirit's voice resounded in the main hall.
'What?'
'I killed more than 10 participants. You have to give me a spell.'
'That's right! We need our spells'
.
.
Hearing the dungeon spirit's words, a few participants became furious and shouted at the ceiling of the castle.
'Boom'
'Boom'
The two participants who cursed the dungeon spirit first had their heads blasted off by some mysterious force that made all the remaining participants silent.
<However, you 78 participants along with the 10 other participants who entered the spell rooms will be promoted to the second level.>
'Huh? Only 10 participants entered the spell rooms? Then what about the two more spell rooms?'
Some of the participants who were not scared by the earlier explosion were able to remember that there were 12 spell rooms.
So, they thought about it; however, they didn't dare to ask the dungeon spirit about it as they didn't want their heads to explode.
<All the participants can take a break of 10 minutes before the doors to the second level open>
After saying that, the dungeon spirit didn't bother with them anymore
…....
In the spell room,
'System, show me the information about my three new spells.'
Even though Lucas had a basic idea about the spells, since he had time, he just wanted to know more about them.
At the same time, he was fooling the dungeon spirit.
'Ding,
Basic spell name:- Telepathy
Effect:- The user can silently communicate with a single person within a 10 meters radius with a thought.
MP cost:- None (MP = Magic power)
Chanting time:- none.
'Ding,
Basic spell name:- Protection
Effect:- As long as the user casts this spell, he will be protected by all the attacks below Lesser knight rank for two minutes.
MP cost:- 10 units
Chanting time:- Two minutes
'Ding,
Basic spell name:- Basic heal
Effect:- This spell can heal small cuts and scratches.
MP cost:- 10 units
Chanting time:- one minute.
Soon, the information about his three new spells appeared in front of him.
'Telepathy is free to use and there is no chanting time.'
Lucas was surprised with that spell and his previous dissatisfaction decreased a little as he slowly checked the other two spells.
'I thought the Basic heal spell would be a good spell; however, the Protection spell turned out to be better than the other two.'
Lucas gave a good rating to the Protection spell as it could stop any attacks below the Lesser Knight realm. So, of course, he would be happy about it.
'For now, I will not use any of these spells until I leave this Infernal mage dungeon unless it is absolutely necessary.'
Lucas has many reasons for thinking like that and he was not wrong with his thought.
Generally, a mage could learn any spell he wanted as long as he had the spell scroll; however, each one of them had an affinity with a single, dual or in some rare cases triple elements.
For mages, as long as they try to learn the spell of their affinity element, it would take the least time and less effort compared to the non-affinity elemental spells.
That's the reason why the mages guild kept different elemental spells and at the same time added a time limit of 10 minutes, making it the participants very hard to learn them unless they have an affinity with that spell.
'Mages guild is cunning'
That was the only thought in his head when he thought about the mages guild who didn't want the youngsters to learn any of their spells.
However, what they didn't know was Lucas could easily learn the spell without much difficulty and for him, he didn't have to worry about the elemental affinity.
If he used his newly learned spells in the dungeon, the dungeon spirit would definitely know something is off about me and inform the Mages guild about it.
'I don't want the Mages guild to torture me about how I can learn different elemental spells in such a short time.'
Lucas clenched his fists as he silently thought to himself.
<Time to start the second level>.
