Intelligence - Low Humanoid

Magic - Very High
Rarity - Very Rare
Cait Sith are lesser fairies, meaning they aren't inherently hostile to humanity. However their idea of 'fun' is frequently dangerous. Appearing as large black cats with a four pointed starburst on their chest, Cait Sith have the physical abilities of the cats they resemble. Magically they're far more powerful. Cait Sith are natural necromancers, capable of raising the dead as zombies at whim. They can also create more powerful undead, and have charm and illusion abilities that can distract and confuse most delvers.
Cait Sith love animating corpses for fun. As such they tend to hide in dungeons recovering magical power, then slip out using their illusion powers. Most encounters with Cait Sith will happen while hunting down the source of an undead problem, and delvers / hunters will need to be very careful their quarry doesn't slip away while pretending to be a normal cat.
While intelligent, Cait Sith rarely talk to people unless prompted to. And while they can be bargained with, their deals tend to come with dangerous loopholes. Of course their main weakness is they're only as tough as a cat.
Cait Sith are smart, agile, and small. And unlike most monsters they aren't interested in direct combat. You'll have to either catch them off guard, or use their curiosity against them if you don't want to be chasing a magic cat across the entire city.
Merge
Common Name : Catperson (While Cait Sith merges have no fixed name they're bundled up with other cat merges)
Benefits : Necromancy, Fae resistance
Weaknesses : Catnip / Silvervine
Cait Sith can't really be captured. However, due to the mischief Cait Sith enjoy, they're actually far more likely to run into an unmerged teen and suffer an embarrassing death. That makes Cait Sith merges more common than one might think.
Physically the merge doesn't look much different from any other cat merge, gaining cat ears and a tail. The affected person's hair and skin also changes to give a dark complexion with a white star on the chest. Some people have claimed increased reflexes, but that's hard to confirm.
All Cait Sith merges gain necromantic powers, able to raise zombies and speak with the dead via pure force of will. They also get a boost to any natural magic skills they have. Like all fairy merges, they gain resistance to the tricks of those monsters. However catnip and silvervine are as effective on them as the drugs are on other cats, making them loopy for about half an hour.
Unlike most necromancers, it's impossible for Cait Sith or their merges to lose control of their monsters. Or rather, when they lose control the soul immediately departs. This makes Cait Sith merge necromancy one of the safest versions of that art.
