Chapter 264: Death of Noa
"Look!... it's her highness, Noa!"
The surrendered soldiers and the people of Ishikara looked up and saw Noa struggle against the hold of the girl in white robes.
"Do you know how I feel right now?"
Arrora sounded calm but her voice contained extreme grief and anger and Noa could see her pain in her eyes.
She tightened the grip on his neck as Noa gasped for a breath of air.
"It should have been me in the carriage"
None of them on the ground could hear what she's talking about, yet, everyone's gaze was fixed on her and Noa.
"You tried to take away the man who saved me, who protected me"
As she said, the silver sword in her hand disappeared. She slowly moved her hand and grabbed Noa's right hand.
"I don't know whether he loved me or not but I loved him, dearly"
Crack!
"Hhhhmmmm"
A muffled cry followed the bone-crushing sound as Noa violently squirmed in agony.
Shreak!
"Ahhhhhhhhh!
Arrora ripped off his right arm completely and despite her hold on his neck, Noa screamed out while Arrora threw his bloodied arm away.
The blood sprayed out of his right shoulder and bloodied her pearl white robes as she grabbed his other arm.
"You tried to take my love away from me"
Just as the words escaped her mouth, she ripped the arm off and threw it away.
"Shit!"
Many people turned their gaze away while many just stared at the scene with pale faces. Nanbu thought she would kill Noa the moment she gets her hands on him but now he realized that she's going to kill him slowly and painfully.
However, Nanbu couldn't pity Noa as he tortured him, Kayako, and Ukita despite their gender and age cruelly and enjoyed their suffering.
Noa's body turned pale due to the blood loss and he was on the verge of losing consciousness
"I want to confess my feelings for him but now, I'm afraid that I won't get the chance "
She put her hand on his collarbone and let out a sad smile.
"Soon I will send every single one of you who attacked him to hell"
And a second after she said this, she took a last look at him and ripped his body into two halves as the remaining blood and organs of Noa splashed. The crowd saw a red mist in the sky and the two bloodied halves of Noa falling down as they felt a shiver run through their spines.
If any of them wanted to bury Noa's body, they have to scour through the capital to find his two arms and scrape his body from the ground considering the two halves were dropped from an extreme height.
At this moment, Ishikara finally fell and was conquered by Everlight without suffering a single casualty but in the future, it won't be as easy as this.
"Catalie, send in the Reapers and the Healers"
Vivian took a deep breath and called Catalie. A few seconds after, Taylor and his group saw another group of soldiers appear on the front line but surprisingly, all of them looked a little short and thin to be a soldier, plus, all of them had a big sack on their backs.
"Are they humans?"
Taylor stood on his toes and looked at the newcomers rush towards the battlefield while shouting something in gibberish. They couldn't see their faces and bodies because of the masks and black dress they wore but one thing was sure to them, these Reapers were not humans unless they were little children.
After the Reapers, the healers who had healing potions brewed by Kayako teleported into the Capital and started to tend to the wounded under the supervision of the Dark Angels.
"Nanbu, secure the borders, don't let anyone in or outside the kingdom until I say so"
"Yes, Lady Vivian"
Vivian nodded and turned her gaze towards the trainees
"I want you to collect the basic information about everyone living in Ishikara, this is your first assignment and I expect the results in two days from now"
"YES, LADY VIVIAN!"
The trainees shouted in unison and saluted while Vivian nodded and made her way towards the castle.
While walking towards the castle, Vivian saw hundreds of soldiers who were in shackles getting the healing potions from the Healers and the children of Ishikara looking at her and the black-armored men with horror.
Yet, Vivian was surprised at the efficiency and power of Everlight, especially Arrora, the Dark Angels, and the Archers who finished the war just like that.
At this point, she wondered how powerful Don and Knight could be considering Nicolas said that Arrora isn't at the level of the first two.
Besides, she first thought that the war would be gory and traumatizing for the commoners but after seeing they finished the war without a single casualty on their side and minimum casualties on Ishikara's side, she was really surprised.
She knew that it would take some time for the people to accept their new rulers except after spending time in Everlight, she had no doubt that these people would be happier than they were in Noa's rule. She noticed the buildings and houses on both sides of the road in much better condition than the buildings in Agoria before rebuilding.
There were a lot of clothing shops, jewelry shops, and a few bakeries other than the houses she saw while she was on her way to the castle.
All the houses had been typified by wooden structures, elevated slightly off the ground, with tiled or thatched roofs. Sliding doors were used in place of walls, allowing the internal configuration of a space to be customized for different occasions. (Japanese style houses)
She could only see one or two stone buildings as the majority of them were built using wood and had bells and pot plants decorations.
"At least he kept his capital beautiful"
Vivian said after noticing the beauty of the fountains and the clean buildings in the capital. And even though Noa did some nasty things behind the curtain, he was a better ruler compared to King Garreth of Agoria or Hedor of Emir.
"Nae so shabby heh"
"We will have a lot less work here unlike Agoria"
The elf and dwarf guards who were walking behind Vivian chatted on their way to the castle.
The castle's layout was different compared to the castle in Agoria or Emir. Ishikara castle's architectural features included a defensive moat stocked with lazy, overfed carp and thick stone walls that had shooting holes for arrows.
Apart from the stone walls, the castle was built of wood making it particularly prone to fire. But after looking closer, Vivian noticed the white plaster-covered mud walls which were built as protection from fire.
The castle was laid out in circles as the inner circle had fancy looking three or four-storied buildings for important nobles and ministers while the second circle contained less fancy houses for the lesser nobles.
The castle itself was multi-storied with curved, tiled roofs and sumptuous decoration and except for the huge hole in the place where the door was, it stood tall and elegant.
Around the premises of the castle area, there were tall buildings that functioned as observation platforms, warehouses, and defense towers.
Most of them were two-story buildings while only a few she saw that had three stories.
"Lady Vivian, we searched the area and captured the soldiers who were in the watchtowers"
"Also we captured some nobles who tried to escape the kingdom"
A pair of Dark Angels came before Vivian and reported it to her since their head Arrora was nowhere to be found.
Currently, the healed soldiers had been led to the training ground under the supervision of the Dark Angels, and citizens were restrained from doing anything crazy by the black-armored soldiers.
"Vivian"
"Arwen"
"Lady Vivian"
"Kayako"
Arwen, Kayako, and Vivian greeted each other, and the three of them had a relieved expression on their faces.
"Finally it ended huh?"
"Honestly It went better than I expected "
Arwen sighed and said
"We still have some work to do Arwen, when what happened here spread to the other kingdoms, who knows what would happen? We have to be ready"
Vivian said.
"That's why Ken is bringing the cannon here incase a Heavenly level mage appears "
Even though they had two Heavenly level mages on their side, if they fought with another Heavenly level mage, their clash would destroy half of the capital as collateral and none of them wanted that.
"You mean 'the' cannon?"
Vivian's eyes went wide as she emphasized the word 'the' and asked.
"Yep, Ken and Benedict finally figured it out and fixed that damn thing "
Kayako had no idea of the cannon they were talking about and gawked at them confusedly.
"I can't wait to see what the cannon can do"
"I hope it's worth two hundred and fifty thousand low-quality stones"
Arwen threw a small smile and said as Kayako gasped for air when she heard the price.
"Don't mention this around Amaryll "
Arwen and Kayako couldn't help but chuckle hearing Vivian. A moment later, one of Arwen's archers came to them and bowed
"Captain Arwen, Lady Vivian, Lady Kayako"
"What is it Erendriel?"
"Captain Arwen, we found the dungeon and"
The elf paused for a moment and continued
"And a group of people"
"Kayako, you shouldn't come with us, go and see what's happening outside, we'll take care of this"
Vivian knew that the dungeon would bring back some bad memoirs and remind Kayako of the time they were in the dungeon tortured by Noa, so she asked Kayako to stay out of the dungeon.
"Yes"
Kayako meekly nodded and started to walk outside as Vivian and Arwen followed the elf to the dungeon.
