Car Ride
"Hey guys!" Alex said as he waved at the Cullen vampires who had gathered around their cars.
"Hey, Alex!" Alice waved at him as a large smile appeared on her face.
Running towards Alex, she gave him a hug.
Alex's face turned surprised at the show of affection, but he quickly returned the hug and then parted with Alice.
"Hey, could we get going? I don't really want Bella to see us together," Alex said as he looked at the others.
It took a moment, but the Cullens nodded and got inside their cars.
Alice took Alex, and they hopped into the silver Volvo together with Edward and Edythe while the others went inside the jeep.
Turning the ignition key, Edward started the Volvo up, and they headed out of the parking lot quickly.
"So, how did today go?" Alex said as he tried to break the icy atmosphere in the car.
Edward and Edythe didn't answer him at all, unlike someone who started ranting about her entire day.
Alice turned to Alex and started talking about how the classes were so boring today and how she couldn't wait to show him around their house.
"You will love it, Alex, and now that we both know we are vampires, we can even go around hunting animals, and you can even join us to play baseball," Alice said as she could barely get the words out with how fast she was talking.
Alex had to raise his head at one point to stop her.
"OK, we can do whatever you have planned, Alice. Just please calm down a little, I'm not going to go anywhere." Alex said as he looked at the pixie.
"Ah, sorry, I get too excited sometimes," Alice replied as she turned to look back forwards.
"No, it's fine. I love how you are so carefree and are able to connect and talk to anyone." Alex said as he tried to lift up her mood.
'Even I'm not as scatterbrained as she is, though, and that's an achievement if I have ever seen one,' Alex thought as he looked down at the short pixie haircut vampire.
'It feels weird to be next to people so otherworldly sometimes, even just two weeks ago i could have never imagined i would be in a car with real vampires' Alex thought as he turned to look out of the car window.
"So you were a vampire all along?" Edythe asked as she turned her head to look at the backseats where Alex and Alice were seated.
Edythe's question seemed to cause both Alice and Edwards's heads to perk up a little. Clearly, both of them were also interested in the question.
"Thats right, im sure Jasper could have noticed that his bloodthirst doesnt really go off around me does it?" Alex answered as he turned his head to look at Edythe.
Alice turned to face Alex, and she nodded her head quickly.
"That's right. Jasper did tell me about how he didn't mind being around you. I guess that makes sense now that we know you are a vampire." Alice said.
"It would make sense. My blood should essentially be poison to you," Alex said as he nodded at Alice.
Edythe then asked another question.
"How is your heart still beating? Do you fake it?" Edythe asked as her brows furrowed in confusion.
Alex shook his head.
"I'm not faking it. It's real. As I have told Doctor Carlisle, my race of vampires is vastly different from yours. An example would be that I don't have the stone-hard skin like you do. My regeneration, however, is much, much higher than yours," Alex said as he touched Alice's hand for a moment so as to showcase the stone skin and then pressed on his own arm.
"I see," Edythe said slowly as she nodded and turned back around.
'No you dont see at all, your probably even more confused than before you asked the questions' Alex thought.
"Lets leave all the quetsions for when everyone is together however, i dont really want to repeat myself a hundred times. And i also have some questions about your race id like to ask Carlisle" Alex said as he turned to look outside the window once more.
Outside the car, they were now driving in the middle of a forest, with trees surrounding both sides of the road.
The trees look hundreds of years old as they were so large that they could cover even the sky, causing a large shadow to appear on the road.
"This place really is the best for vampires," Alex mumbled to himself as he looked at the large forest.
"That's right. There's almost no sun the entire year, and the forests have enough animal life to keep us fed," Alice answered as he came closer to Alex, looking out of the window together with him.
Alex nodded and kept looking into the forest as they passed by.
His enhanced senses included incredible eyesight. Alex wasn't just able to see far away clearly.
Even his motion sight had increased.
What motion sight meant was the ability to see moving objects clearly as if they were staying in one place.
'There really is a lot of wildlife around here. It's nice, considering how much humanity has ruined the natural habitats of so many creatures.' Alex thought as he stared at some squirrels heading up a tree.
"Are we almost there?" Alex said as he turned to face the others.
"Almost there," Edward said, finally voicing out a word since the start of the drive.
