Chapter 119 120. Diana's broken abilities
Chapter 119 120. Diana's broken abilities
It was a smirk that seemed to be taunting and mocking her, leaving her extremely annoyed.
But even despite the sour taste it left in her mouth, she had to admit she could understand why such a man still managed to have multiple women around him.
She looked at the shy Nina and secretly shook her head.
It seemed like she was adamant that she and Lucius were 'friends' and Diana could only imagine it would not be long before she fell into Lucius's grasp
Lucius saw Diana's helpless look and put a smug grin on his face
"Humph!"
Seeing that there was no problem, she could only huff as she went back to the front room to continue giving the briefing .
But as soon as she started giving her explanation of what would be happening, Lucius started zoning out.
This was still an expedition that was for the mages. All Lucius had to do was act as the glorified labour. The ones doing the investigation and documenting all these magical plants would be the Job and research and mage students so as time passed Lucius's mind drifted off thinking about other things.
An unknown amount of time passed by with Lucius minding his own business when he suddenly felt someone tugging on his arm
"…Lucius… Lucius.."
"Huh?"
Suddenly Lucius's eyes snapped open
'Damn! I actually fell asleep.'
It seemed like his last night with Veronica had tired him out more than he wanted to admit
Lucius wiped off the Derik that was gathering at the edge of his mouth and jumped up under Nina's exasperated gaze.
"Lucius, the talk is over. We're heading out to the field now."
Lucius looked around to see the emptying classroom and couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed
By now, the only person left in the room was the glaring white haired beauty.
Lucius coughed in embarrassment and walked up with Nina towards Diana, where she specifically handed each of them a map.
"This is the task given to you two. It clearly highlights the plants you have to check up on and harvest, as well as the magical beasts that can roam in these areas."
Lucius looked at the map and relaxed. Although there were a few dangerous monsters marked out, most of them were nothing to fear and the few dangerous ones could still be handled with a bit of caution and hard work.
Lucius took the map along with Nina and walked out of the classroom, but not before Diana could let off a cold remark
"I don't trust you and your character, so you better not cause any trouble because I'll be watching you."
Lucius saw this and snorted coldly as he responded,
"You can watch all you want, I've got nothing to hide"
Even if it was angelic beauty, nobody would like a busybody breathing down their neck giving them no room to think.
Fortunately, Diana didn't bother to provoke Lucius anymore, and she led the group into the forest surrounding the academy.
This Forrest was considered private property of the academy, but this shouldn't let you underestimate it. It was absolutely massive!
It was thanks to this vast expanse and varying m habitats and environments that allowed for them to grow all sorts of different magical plants and herbs
In addition to the magical herbs, it was also home to a diverse amount of magical wildlife and beasts, some that were even outright hostile to humans.
The magical beasts were often used as a way to train the combat ability of students and sow were used to assist in the growth of certain magical plants by either protecting them from pests and rodents or even using their waste to fertilise them.
But right now Lucius didn't have time to worry about the magical beasts.
He was currently walking behind the group with a backpack filled with piles of specialised magical equipment used for testing and collecting magical plants.
Lucius looked around at the mages scurrying around collecting samples and recording data and sighed.
Eventually, Lucius looked towards Diana, who was overseeing this expedition the entire time, and his eyes couldn't help but show a little caution.
He hasn't seen Diana act a lot, but the few times he did, he could only describe it as something like a thunder strike.
All of a sudden, a bow suddenly appeared in her hand and there was a flash of light before any attacking monster was instantly annihilated!
Lucius finally understood why Diana, an archer, was sent to oversee this group instead of a mage or even a senior professor.
It was simply impossible to compete with the range of coverage and attack speed of a powerful archer.
In a way, it was almost overkill.
Lucius looked at her talents in detail and understood just got a better understanding of how she could be so terrifying
