Chapter 118 – Father Daughter Trip
In a dream,
Kurenai sat under a tree, gently smiling as she looked in the distance. She raised her hands, performing a genjutsu inside her dream, creating a visage of the man with scarlet eyes, short black hair, "Jay..."
The young man in the illusion walked towards her. And then, something changed on the grassy hill as he appeared in front of her. He kneeled in front of her, "You called."
Kurenai tilted her head, "I don't think I will ever get your illusion gaining agency."
Jay stepped down beside her, taking her hand in his, "You have gotten older..."
"You are still young...as always."
Jay scratched his cheek, "That I am."
Kurenai chuckled, resting her head on his shoulder, "Still shameless."
"That too."
Kurenai breathed in, closing her eyes, enjoying his presence, "Do you know why I called you? After so many years?"
"Mm, I think you are quite used to calling me to satisfy your personal desire."
Kurenai punched him in the waist, "Ugh!"
She pulled his hand, acting all gentle, "Do you know why I called you?"
"No," Jay held his waist, leaning forward, breathing in, closing his eyes.
Kurenai opened her eyes, "It's dangerous...just recently the Otsutsuki attacked the village..."
"I know," Jay whispered.
Kurenai gripped onto his sleeves, whispering, "Mirai was there..."
"Oh."
"She could have been killed."
"If so, then she would have just come to me."
"No joking, Jay," Kurenai watched him with entreating eyes, "I can't lose her..."
"Kurenai..." Jay stroked her head, placing his forehead on hers, caressing her hair, "The World Level has barely reached 2. I can control most things before it reaches 2...so there is no need to unlock her powers. Let her stay...ordinary for a little longer."
Kurenai closed her eyes, "Then can you promise me that there aren't any threats that would get her killed?"
"She's a Chunin-"
"Otsutsuki Level Threats."
"..."
"I am not asking...I am telling you. Take your responsibility as her father and guide her, make her stronger, to say the least."
"Geez, fine, Kurenai...Sensei..."
"Shut up," Kurenai soft smiled, "I am old..."
"I am young," Jay held her head, leaning forward, kissing her lips.
Kurenai pushed his back, "First, Mirai..."
Hokage's Office,
"Yo! You called Lord Seventh?" Guren peeked inside the Hokage's room, blinking, "I am here."
"Oh, Guren. Did you message your Dad that you wanted to be there on his trip with him for a little while?" Naruto watched his staying at the other side of the door, hiding. He wasn't sure what Guren was doing, but he had stopped asking some time ago since he was always so...eccentric.
Guren's eyes shone with bright light, "Did he reply? Did he finally remember he has children? Oh, Great Buddha. Finally, you have bestowed some wisdom upon that man."
Naruto scratched his cheek, "You know you have to ask me these things before you decide?"
"Ah, yes. Can I go, Lord Seventh?" Guren stepped inside the room, wearing a cloak that covered the tight clothes underneath and lifting a huge bag that was five times his size on his back.
Shikamaru looked at Guren's grin, darting his eyes between him and the bag before he burst out in suppressed laughter.
Naruto sighed, "Yes, you can go. But you can't go alone..."
"Oh, oh," Guren stepped back to take the hand of the person hiding on the corner of the door. He pulled Mirai in front of them, and he hugged her, "Can I take her?"
"I am not an item," Mirai retorted. Still soon, a bright and cheerful smile appeared on her face as she bowed towards Shikamaru and Naruto in all earnestness, "I will protect him for sure! Lord Seventh!"
Naruto blinked, peeking towards another red back that was barely visible on the corner of the door, smiling, "Well, ok. Mirai. I give this mission to you."
"Yes! I will not disappoint you, Lord Hokage!"
A few days later, Land of Wind,
"We are on a trip to meet Sasuke! We are on a trip! We are on a trip!" Guren walked in front of Mirai, hopping, but his feet didn't touch the sand.
"Ughh...how can you be so cheerful after walking in this desert for two days?"
"Mm," Guren turned upside down; his face was in front of hers, his feet towards the sky as he walked backward. He maintained the distance between them, "It's because someone played around too much and missed the train."
Mirai looked up as her eyes looked up in Guren's Sharingan that seemed to hold the starry sky, with two tomoe, transparent, in it. She was dazed for a moment but then remembered, "Don't say it like it was my fault! You were the one playing around!"
(Maybe me too, a bit). Mirai spoke in her inner voice, "But mostly you!"
Guren put his fist on his head, sticking out his tongue, "Tee-hee."
"Don't you Tee-hee me!" Mirai tightened her jaw, walking forward to pass him, "I was so excited to meet the Legendary Sasuke Uchiha too. But you...now we can't reach him in time for sure."
Guren pivoted, landing in front of her, "Oh, well. When you make that face."
He took out a scroll, summoning ten thick rectangular blades made of the same metal as the kunai. He threw them in the air, and they started circling around him, causing Mirai to widen her eyes in amazement, "Amazing."
Guren rubbed his nose, too proud, manipulating the ninja tools, and they slid under Mirai's sole. They supported her thighs, waist, shoulder, and two blunt ones were under her palms.
"You are only using two," Mirai looked at all the blades, curling her lips.
Guren waved his finger, "Hehehe, because I am also using strings to keep them attached to my shoes."
"Then do the same for me?" Mirai looked towards her sandals.
"Ah, those sandals might get torn apart, and at that speed and force, it might just cut your feet in two."
Mirai nearly jumped out of her skin when Guren remembered something, "Wait, you have those ninja blades, right?"
Mirai confusedly nodded, taking out the ninja blades that she could hold, seeing Guren put a seal on them, controlling them, "See! Now you can use them to steer."
"Steer?" Mirai tilted her head, seeing Guren laugh, surf over the sand before she got pulled forward, "Uwawawawaawaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!"
She waved the blades that she held in her hand, causing her body to turn and twist, and her head hurt before she fell in the sand.
She sat up, getting rid of the sand in her mouth, "Pfffffff!! Pfff!! Pffffffff!!"
"Hahaha!! See, I told you, you could steer."
"Give better warning next time!" Mirai shouted at him, seeing him crouching in front of her, tracing her cheek. A blush covered her face as he gazed into her eyes, "You have beautiful scarlet eyes...just like your father."
"Hm?" Mirai was happy for a second when she remembered, and a vein popped on her forehead, "I don't have scarlet eyes! Nor does my father!"
Guren chuckled, starting to surf in front of her, pulling her behind him, hearing her scream as the two crossed the sky much faster than a train. But they didn't get far when they heard the sound of battle, making Guren change course.
He got confused the closer he got, increasing his speed to reach there faster, "Lord Kazekage? Puppets? Dad? Boruto?!"
"Hahaha, another one came!"
The confusion on Guren's face disappeared as he looked up, seeing Urashiki fly in the air. The look in his eyes changed to that of a hunter catching prey, "Urashiki."
A grin appeared on his face, "I found you."
"I don't like the look in your eyes, kid," Urashiki's smile disappeared, his eyebrows scrunched in anger.
"Really? Don't worry. When I pull out your eyes, you won't have to see anything."
"You! Inferior creature!"
