Chapter 70: New god fools a cunning Witch?
"And why do you think that I will believe that a newly born god like you can help me escape from my prison when I as a true god couldn't do it myself," Morgan asked with one of her brows up.
"Because you aren't able to do this," Rudeus said with a smirk as he placed one of his red divine energy-coated fingers on the magical barrier of the castle. His divine energy immediately began to corrode the mystic energy of the seal in front of her eyes.
"Ohhh. I see. I guess you are right for the job then. Fine, What do you want in return for freeing me? And don't reply with something like a date. We both know you aren't that foolish." She said in her usual royal highborn British accent.
"Well, you got me. But before I make my demand, I have a few questions for you which will determine what I want from you in return of freeing you." Rudeus said.
"Go ahead then."
"What did you mean when you said you are a true god," Rudeus asked curiously.
"I am a descendent of the fae, the magical beings who were born from nature itself. I have their bloodline in me. I even worship the one true nature goddess, Gaea. After I got my initial magical knowledge from Merlin, which believe me wasn't much since I didn't marry that perverted old man, I with the help of Gaea mastered ancient fae magic and was able to activate my latent bloodline and make myself into a true god." Morgan told her story with pride.
"Wait, so you are telling me you are a fairy? Like Tinker Bell and Fairy Godmother type fairy with a pink dress and fairy dust?" Vanessa interrupted her trying to suppress her own laughter.
"Pray that I don't have to use any fairy dust on you girl, it's not exactly as child-friendly as it's rumored to be," Morgan told her angrily as she was ticked off by Vanessa's comment on her lineage.
"Anyways as I was saying after I became a true goddess, I tried to fight Merlin and my brother to prevent the conversion of the kingdom to Christianity but alas I was unsuccessful. Even though I almost defeated him, another mage named the White Witch interfered and helped Merlin to imprison me here in my own home, Castle le Fay." She ended her tale of 'almost winning' against her enemies.
"That's so sad. Anyways, my next question is do you know how to summon or open a portal to the Norn goddess of magic, Karnilla?" Rudeus asked.
"That bitch? Pardon my language, but of course I do. I even had a battle with her once. Why would you possibly want to go to her realm? She isn't exactly cordial with visitors." Morgana said with a little underlying anger in her voice.
"As I said I am a god. So I need to learn Godly divine magic, not sorcery or fae magic. So I thought that if you could teach me the basics and help me get Karnilla as my divine magic teacher, it will be quite helpful. I heard she is one of the strongest magicians ever." Rudeus said shamelessly.
"Did you probably not hear when I said I am a true Fae god, which means I know divine magic just as well as her if not even better and I am much stronger than that Karnilla? Also didn't you request me to be your only magic teacher a few minutes ago?"
"Well, I don't think I ever said that, and I never exactly 'requested' you. I would call it making a deal which by the way profits you more. And are you sure you are stronger than Karnilla because you don't look the part? I heard she even has something called the Norn stones that can change reality itself. Also, she is a God Queen of the Norns and has a lot of books on magic I can read there. She is probably more suited to be a better teacher." Rudeus egged her on further.
"Oh please. I have a castle too and this dimension rightfully belongs to me as its only queen. If it wasn't for the final battle against my brother and that perverted old mage, I would be ruling it now, so I am a God Queen too in a way. Also, I may not have as many books as her but I do have more knowledge and understanding. I even have the matrix stone, the tenth Norn stone that is supposed to be the controller of the nine remaining stones." She spoke in a hurry to impress Rudeus and satisfy her ego.
"Ohh, I guess I could be wrong. Maybe you can be a better teacher than Karnilla after all. Maybe you are even better than Enchantress, the Asgardian sorceress." Rudeus spoke in a tone of amazement.
"Don't even begin comparing me with that slut. I am way better than her. I don't open my legs to everyone that pays for more power. I only open my mind and gain knowledge." Le Fay proudly said.
"I see. Then I guess my choice is clear." He said as he pulled a contract paper from his inventory and whispered a few lines to it while placing his hand on its surface.
It was a binding contract given to him by Selene. It was supposedly based on Mephisto's contract magic and once signed was ironclad for not only sorcerers but even gods and demons. It was used by sorcerers and mages to make deals among themselves.
"Here, the contract paper to seal our deal then, unless you recommend Karnilla or Enchantress instead. I mean they are goddesses from birth after all." Rudeus said barely able to control his laughter from seeing the millenia old mage being fooled so easily by him.
He wanted to say that this was probably because of his supreme intelligence but he knew it was probably due to her massive ego and the fact that she probably hadn't interacted with many beings in the last few centuries after she was sealed and probably had gotten a little blunt when it came to a game of wits.
Morgan snatched the paper from his hands, quickly read it, and looked at him "I understand that I'll have to teach you the mystic arts with the best of my effort but why can't I attack you in any way in the next two decades and why do I have to help you in a fight if you need my help?" She asked. She was still smart enough not to sign any contract without reading and analyzing it first.
"Because you are too beautiful and an amazing teacher for me to fight and also if I were to ever come in conflict with Karnilla and Enchantress or some other powerful magician who claimed to be stronger than you, I thought you could help me teach them who is truly the strongest mystic arts practitioner." Rudeus buttered her up further as he bulsh*tted through his way.
"...I see," She said as she cast a few more spells on the contact to check if there was something wrong with it.
After she was done, she made up her decision and signed the contract with her blood.
Rudeus did the same as he used a red divine energy blade to make a small cut on his thumb.
After that, He simply touched the barrier on the castle with his right palm and began emitting his energy at a rapid pace. His energy quickly began to spread and cover the entire barrier as it began to dissolve the mystical energy in it, slowly weakening and breaking the spell.
Soon the castle looked like it was covered with a red dome as the entire seal was being corroded and destroyed by his energy like some acid.
"And flick," Rudeus said as he lightly flicked the barrier with his fingers. The entire barrier or whatever was left of it broke apart like glass in an explosion.
"You flicked too hard." Lilith said as she dodged a piece of the 'red glass' that came towards her and quickly evaporated into the environment.
"You are free now Morgan le Fay. So I guess you should get ready for my first lesson soon. As for going to Karnilla's realm, I think I'll be postponing it for later. Maybe you will prove to be a better teacher than her after all. Although I would still probably try to 'borrow' some books and the Norn stones from her later." Rudeus said to her with a carefree expression and a smile that seemed to say 'I got you.'
"..."
"..."
"You scammed me, didn't you? I can't believe I fell for the oldest trick in the book.*Sigh* I almost miss my stupid brother now." Morgan remarked in a tired voice.
She had never thought that someone would one day actually try to scam her like this and even succeed. 'How far I have fallen.' She thought to herself as she looked at the young god turning back and happily trotting away to the two girls while conversing with his floating box like he was the smartest man alive.
'Not the smartest maybe but still definitely one of the most interesting.' a small smile tugged at his lips.
That's it for today.
(A/N: Btw, I should make it clear here that the mc is not an inherent genius that became the epitome of 12th intellect after coming to Marvel. No, he was an averagely intelligent guy that somehow crossed over. He thinks of himself as intelligent like we all do and sometimes he will think of himself as a fool too if he makes any mistakes.
But he will remain one of us, a geek at heart and a nerd at mind with an obsession with spandex-wearing fictional babes😉. And no, he is not an idiot or retard just because he made a simple mistake. I could easily make him into the smartest character ever using my author omni magic but that would be VERY boring since he would probably be able to speedrun the entire Marvel world in a month with every female in the multiverse in his harem if that happens🙂
Also, he does and will do things that we will all do if we ever get a chance at transmigration after reading a shit ton of fiction. Even the fact that he is paranoid is because he read a lot of dark fiction and evil Dumbledoor stories not because he is Batman reincarnated. He WILL become more cunning and smarter with time, but not with some perk from his system that might potentially mess with his mind. Oh, and a huge difference in how his mind works will only come when he
evolves. Then he will truly become smarter as he nears the cosmic deity power level.)
Also, you can check out my Pat reøn page as well to read ahead or just to support your amazing author. I have a lot of chapters in advance there.
(My Pat-reon uses the new billing method which means if you pledge on 15th of this month, you will have to pay again on the day you pledged, ie, 15th of the next month. So whenever you subscribe, you will get a whole month.)
